We had a wonderful brief tour. We saw the main points in about 50 minutes. Our guixe was knowledgeable and shared photos of hidden features such as the chandelier that has a place to accommodate musicians.
Went to Teatro Colon to celebrate my birthday in 2024 and it was a very beautiful experience. This place is majestic, impressive, and full of grandeur. The architecture is impressive, just like Buenos Aires, and the sound is fabulous. Unfortunately the play that was playing at the time, I think it was Einstein at beach?, stunk! I didn’t even stay to the end, we left past halfway and turned out to be good because we were able to take some great pictures without anyone else there.
It is one of the best in the world..it is beautiful..I went for guided tour. My guide was very good and explained the history of more than 100 years of the opera..I highly recommend to go for either guided tour or performance whenever in Buenos aires
We all agree that it is a magnificent building. However, make sure not to pay for an expensive seat in the back row of balcony boxes. You will not be able to see much depending on the body build of the person seating in front of you. It is ridiculous they have not add seating levels as to allow those in the back row to see the show.
Unfortunately no time to enter or catch a show - was told it was amazing with sensational acoustics. Apparently last minute tickets to shows when available are very economical. The building itself has an intriguing history incl the death of a couple of the architects (both 44 when they died). It is a sensational building from outside.
