I had a nice stay at The PuLi Hotel and Spa. I booked a Deluxe King room, and the hotel really stands out for its design and atmosphere. The lobby has a beautiful ambience, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. They also have a bathtub overlooking the city which was quite nice. That said, I’m a bit unsure about the value for money. While everything was high quality, I’m not convinced it fully justifies the price. I personally feel like you could find a comparable hotel for less, or possibly something better at a similar price point. The location was perfectly fine and convenient, though not particularly memorable. I’ve generally found most hotel locations to be pretty workable in Shanghai, so this one didn’t stand out in any positive/negative way to me. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help me make calls because I don't have a Chinese phone number. I didn’t try any of the amenities like the pool, gym or spa but they looked good and I don't have any complaints wit Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with excellent service and good atmosphere so the only reason I'd give it a 4 would be because of price/value compared to other options in the area.

I came to Puli after having a wonderful time staying at the Upper house and wanted to try another hotel of what I thought was the same caliber. The ambience and lighting of the room was nice and I initially thought I would have a great stay. But in the middle of the night I was woken up by the noise of what sounded like construction. I asked for earplugs but still the noise prevented me from sleeping. I called the front desk and they told me it was the sound of the air conditioning and that I would have to turn off the air conditioning to have silence. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life. I have never stayed in a hotel with noise like this, much less a hotel like PuLi that prides itself on being a "sanctuary of serene simplicity". It is now 3am and I am waiting to be transferred to another room where there will still be sound but maybe less. Speaking of the air ventilation system, when I first got into my room I was trying to take a nap but I kept waking up because the bedding had this sticky damp feeling. I had also written in my reservation that it was my grandma's birthday and requested to have flowers and a cake ready in the room when we arrived. That did not happen. I had to call them so many times after I got into the room to discuss the birthday cake while my grandma was in the room with me, ruining the surprise. They called again to ask me my grandma's name which I had already written in the reservation note. Honestly I was going to overlook the birthday carelessness and not even leave a review but this many consecutive errors shocked me and is something I have never experienced before. I came to the PuLi looking forward to a restorative peaceful getaway in the city and am instead sleep deprived and awake at 3am writing a google review. this is the first negative google review I've written in my life. At Upper house I would wake up amazed at the silence despite being in the center of so many tourist attractions. I thought they had soundproofed the windows. I will be returning to Upper house.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stayed at The PuLi Hotel and Spa for 10 days, and it was a truly world-class experience. 🌟 From the moment I arrived, everything radiated calm sophistication the scent, the design, the service. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Jing’an, with easy access to all the best spots in Shanghai. My room was elegant, quiet, and impeccably clean, with breathtaking views of the city skyline. Housekeeping was discreet and flawless. The spa? Sublime. The pool? A hidden oasis. 🌆💆‍♂️ Yes, there were a few very minor imperfections but what stood out most was how the staff went above and beyond every single time to ensure my stay remained perfect. Truly warm, attentive, and professional service. 👏 A genuine sanctuary in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities. Highly recommended for travelers who value luxury, serenity, and exceptional hospitality. I will definitely return. 🇨🇳✨

The hotel was exceptional - design, food , location and service. The terrace is amazing , relaxing while you sit by a large pond/water feature making you forget you are actually in Jing'an and in central Shanghai - a real urban retreat! The only thing was the room was the bed was very, very uncomfortable and more like a futon and the bedding was not of great quality. Other than that everything was perfect!

Modern luxury hotel, Relatively well located - depending on where you need to be (not by the Bund). Rooms are spacious, with very comfortable bed. Depending on room, you get a bathtub with nice outside view. Semi- buffet style Breakfast usually good, with a choice of Chinese and western options.
