Came back to Fūunji for the second time, and it was just as good as I remembered. There was a long wait again, but it’s completely worth it. This is one of those places that consistently delivers. The tsukemen broth is thick, rich, and deeply flavorful, with that signature seafood-chicken intensity that coats every strand of noodle. The noodles are perfectly chewy and hold up beautifully in the dipping soup. It’s efficient, no-frills, and focused purely on quality. Honestly, this feels like a must-visit whenever I’m in Tokyo.

4.5 stars!! We waited around 20 mins before we could sit and eat. But it was worth the wait! You line up outside and then across the street. As you move closer to the entrance, you can place your order on a vending machine. Then, when they ask you for the ticket, just hand it over to them. Once inside, you can watch them prep the meals...a well-oiled energetic machine of 3 people. These guys are known for their dipping noodles and that is what you should get. We ordered the regular size deluxe dipping noodles (tsukemen) and regular size ramen with a Kirin beer. The dipping sauce for the noodles was top class. I could eat this sauce by itself, no modifications needed! The noodles themselves were a little finicky when cold, but once dipped, they were excellent. The ramen was good, but nowhere close to the tsukemen. I also needed to add a lot of spice powder to enhance the flavors in the ramen. Definitely recommend coming here for tsukemen. You will love the atmosphere that concentrates on good, delicious food!

This is by far the best ramen that I ever had. We order both the dipping Tsukemen and the deluxe ramen. The broth is thick and flavourful. Ingredients were generous as well. The noodles have some bite to it which is really good. Service was fast too. We didn’t have to wait long before getting to a seat. And they were already preparing my orders even before we had a seat. Really awesome planning.

Wait time can be long but is definitely worth it. The broth is very flavorful, and with the noodles, makes slurping so satisfying. The broth was the perfect amount of saltiness that required a sip of water after every few bites. Services is good and fast

We had high expectations for Fuunji Ramen given its popularity on Tabelog, but it didn’t fully hit the mark for us. The tsukemen dipping ramen is definitely unique, though the dipping sauce felt very salty and had a strong fishy flavor that wasn’t quite our style. Make sure to choose the standard size of noodles, as the big one is definitely too big. The place was completely full when we arrived, so we had to wait a bit for a seat. After we finished, a long line had formed outside, which shows how popular it is. Prices are on the cheaper side, which might explain why so many people love this spot.
